Okay, so we've been to Boracay and Palawan, time to move to another beach. In Cebu, we can go Malapascua Beach or Bantayan Island OR we can go to Bohol - Alona Beach (Panglao Island). If you were the travel director of YAP, which would you recommend?

water, water, water everywhere
we see it here, we see it there
we swim, we wade - our bathing suits we wear
our problems, our worries - we forget what they were

the tourists they come they enjoy it here
our food they eat, our laughter they hear
they come from countries, far and near
our people, our ways, they need not fear

we welcome everyone to take a trip
our beaches are great, take my tip
the waters are cool so take a dip
hey there's a shark - just kidding, pip!

***corny poem is my original!

Bohol.

Cebu has had its peak, although some beaches are still unspoilt, like Malapascua.

Bohol is relatively unknown (although avid travelers would have discovered it eons ago). The thing going for Bohol is the fact that it is also relatively undeveloped, maintaining its provincial charm. And the trip can well go beyond the beach. The river cruise is an excellent experience, and so would spelunking in the various caves. And there is the famous Chocolate Hills as a bonus.

Bohol because there are a lot to discover from this place. I find the beach of Bohol more tranquil and relaxing. If you want adventure, go to Cebu where sharks are abundant - Malapascua Beach.

I am from cebu. I do not live in the philippines but everytime i go back, I go back to cebu. In recent years it has become overpopulated because of the rising quality of the colleges and availability of jobs, there are more and more people living there.. There are people everywhere and the beaches are not as nice as they were 10 years ago.

I suggest bohol if you want solitude and a nice relxing environment free from all the traffic and crime that plagues cebu city.

bohol. it's not as developed as cebu, so it's still very beautiful and not cluttered with man made things. less crowded too. but alona beach is crowded, and i suggest staying there if you like the night life or something. we were supposed to stay there, but it was a bit too crowded for us. when we were in bohol, we stayed at a beautiful resort called the Bohol Bee Farm. it has it's own little private beach. it's relaxing and beautiful there. everything in the resort is made of natural things. and has hammocks cluttered around outdoors so it's very relaxing.

Not that I am biased but, I prefer the beaches from my native Cebu. There are many to choose from, in Lapulapu City to Consolacion (Stakili), to Danao (El Salvador), to Carmen (Km 47) and up to the north - Malapascua and Bantayan Island.

malapascua is nice but bohol is the best. especially in balicasag island about 30 minutes from alona beach where you can do snorkeling very nice and when you go back to alona beach ask the pump boat operator to go puntod island, this is very nice small island but it will sink during high tide.

Oh, I've been to those places you've mentioned and I love to go back again.. I have wonderful memories to those places but if I have to choose only one then it's gonna be Bohol and Panglao Island. It's the bomb! the place and service are excellent. <*-*>
