the family of ron goldman are getting all rights to o.j.'s book. i think that is completely uncalled for. this family is getting rich of there 40 some odd year old son who was supposedly killed by o.j. Simpson. yet Simpson was acquitted of all charges so why would another judge go and reward this family 33.5 million. they took o.j.'s hiesman trophy for Pete's sake how low can they get. when in all actuality it was probably ron goldmans family that planned all this out because they figured o.j. would have motive so they could pin it on him. this family went by the old addage money solves all problems because they are living off a dead guy who was probably sickly in the first place after all he did hook up with an atheltes ex-wife.

o.j. gets nothing from the book. goldman get 90 % and the other 10% goes to someone else that will end up going to the browns.

First off yes he was acquitted but he was found liable for the 1994 death of Ronald Goldman and committed battery against his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, a civil trial jury ruled in February of 1997. I have not read anything on the 33.5 million. However, if OJ did have anything to do with those murders, which again he was found liable, then some kind of restitution should have to be paid. No it will not bring back someone’s son or someone’s daughter or 2 children’s mother, but it shows that if you are found to be involved with something like this then you must pay. We will truly never know if he was in fact in on the murders or if he did this crime himself, But there is one judge and jury that knows the truth and he can not escape them.

That assumes that the civil jury erred in finding OJ civilly liable for the death of Ron Goldman. Unlike the criminal jury which had the much higher burder of proof of beyond a reasonable doubt, the civil jury only had to find it more likely than not that OJ was responsible.

Having been found liable by a jury, all of O.J.'s assets are subject to being seized until the judgment is paid. This case is no different than any other wrongful death case except for the parties being famous.

i agree with you that its wrong but oj did mention the murder of goldman's son in his book. i am sure you have heard about hollywood people paying money to 'buy' some unique real life stories....oj can't get that for free.
the only thing thats wrong in this case is that goldman will get 90% of profits from the book and oj will get 10%....but oj's wifes family gets nothing....i am sure she is in the book too....so why didn't the judge gave her family any money but gave 90% to goldman?

because OJ wasn't paying the settlement that the Goldman family was awarded. please... his book .... IF i did it this is how i did it? more or less...and just because the guy hooked up with the EX wife of an athelte ( OJ was also an actor remember that) doesnt make you sickly LOL

You do realize that civil lawsuits and criminal trials are different? And that a person can be not found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, but still be found liable under the lesser civil standard of preponderance of the evidence?

OJ lost the civil trial. And book rights were one of the assets awarded by the court.
