I want to thank tej kohli (Yahoo Answer user) for this article and wanted to share this with those interested. This is serious business. I was quite upset when I read this. These are Americans for crying out loud. Anyways, what are your opinions?

Yes. I am aware of this. One of our friends from here is having this problem.

I think it is wrong. I think it is discriminatory. I think this needs to be discussed and it needs to change. This is just one example of those hidden rights/privileges that heterosexuals are rewarded that are purposely denied to the homosexual segment of American society.

My opinion is more of a question: where did the author of that article get those statistics?

You realize that people constantly make up statistics to prove an argument. And because in America we have a little thing called freedom of the press and freedom of speech, people can say or write whatever they please as long as they don't intend on tricking people do buying something with those fairy tale stats.

Statistics are also flawed in the sense that those numbers got there by some mathematician who crunched some fancy formula and walla, you have your statistics. They aren't fact, just a good guess.

The world has its problems. That goes without saying. And people often start raising the question that with all these issues in the world will humanity pull itself out of the gutter before it is too late. Well it starts with one person at a time, but it is also going to take a Superman to go out and pull society together. Not in the sense that there is a cape wonder who goes around defeating bad guys, the world is going to need someone in a great position of influence to step up and start changing things.

That's horrible!

And to the first person - it DOES have to do with LGBT. If you read the article you'd realize that it talks about the fact that the largest number of people who aren't allowed the Green Card to be recognized as U.S. citizens are the gays - 20 million of them! Because marriage is the easiest way to obtain the card, but gay marriage is largely still not recognized in the U.S.
