I have only been working for about 5 months now and I do not really fancy my current job. I work in a law firm as a paralegal. I have only just recently graduated from a diploma in law.

Now that i have just been confirmed with a pay raise, the firm i did my internship called me back to work with them. What should I do? My internship firm called me twice already.

Help anyone?

Get a piece of paper and draw a line in the middle and then compare the two jobs in terms of pay, commute, fringe benefits, growth, etc. Which one has more pluses?

Peace and blessings!

If you liked the firm you used to work for better go with them. Even though you are getting a pay raise at this place, you aren't happy. I'm sure that if you went to the place you enjoyed more you could eventually get a pay raise there too AND enjoy what you do.

Weigh things out. Job satisfaction does not always equal good pay. Do you get recognized at your current job? Do you like the team environment there? Do you feel appreciated by your supervisor? Find out too if your internship firm is offering you employment because they liked your previous performance or are they just desperate to hire someone? We often think that the "grass is greener somewhere" only to be frustrated once we get there.

I would go with the Internship job because that is the position that is going to recognize you more than the lawfirm you do not fancy. And besides, they probably don't appreciate your hard working abilities anyway! ... Go with the Internship one and get paid!

remember as an intern and a full time employee you job responsibilities will be different -- put that under the light before you quit the firm you are now working for.

Choice has to be yours! Which firm offers more scope for advancement? What field do you want to specialise in and do they offer that? Tough call.
