There are Mac virus but they number less than 30 from my understanding. A few where even made to update your computer for you.I can almost guarntee if your macbook is less than 10 years old you don't have a virus. if you really want to waste your money and do it you can get anitvirus for those 30 no longer spreading viruses http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/overview.jsp?pcid=ma&pvid=nav10mac

Why? There isn't any Mac virii.....yet. Believe me, when I first got my Mac last year I installed an anti-spyware and anti-virus programs. The whole 7 months I used them they never detected anything. Just a waste of money, CPU and RAM resources. If you really want an AV program download and install ClamXav, it's mainly used for Windows virii from Word documents you received from Windows users, and so you won't transfer them if you forward them to other Windows users.
