My dad no longer wants me to date my current boyfriend but Its already been 7 months that I have been with this guy and I care for him deeply. Is my dad just scared of letting go? My boyfriend is a good guy and has never disrespected me or my family. What should i do?
IM 18...MY BOY FRIEND IS 18 WE'RE BOTH GOING ON 19 THIS YEAR HIM IN AUG AND ME IN OCT. I HAVE BEEN HELPING SUPPORT MY DAD'S OTHER KIDS SINCE I WAS 15 AND HAVE HAD 2 JOBS SINCE NOV. LAST YEAR. I STILL LIVE AT HOME BUT IM GOING TO MOVE OUT TO GO TO SCHOOL IN THE FALL.MY BOYFRIEND ALSO GOES TO SCHOOL AND WORKS, BUT HE ALSO LIVES AT HOME STILL.

Since your dad has never had any problems with your boyfriend, I believe you are right and he is just worried about losing his little girl.
Another thing that comes to mind, JUST A THOUGHT.
Maybe he heard or seen something and he doesnt want to tell you. So ask him why he wants you to break up with your boyfriend.
