Firefox is my default browser. I only use IE if that's the only browser a web site will work with.
A more interesting question is what add-ons or extensions people use. One of my favorites is NoScript. It allows you to allow or disallow the use of Javascript on a site by site basis.
It more likely that you would be trojans by using IE than by using Firefox.

i do no longer comprehend what gave you the impact that downloading Firefox provides you with a deadly disease, FireFox is very sturdy as a browser, that's surely no longer risky and that i'm one hundred% particular you would be greater useful off with it than IE.

I'm using it as an alternative for internet explorer only when the internet explorer is not properly working because there are certain features that are not available in mozilla firefox unlike in microsoft internet explorer.

I use it and definitively I prefer it over IE because I can add search engines in the space after the address bar, I added a plug-in from Macaffee that says if the site is a good one ( no spam, phishing, scams, etc.) and you can add many useful plug-ins . You can open the pages that you want at the same time because you can use more than one home page. I think also that it's more secure because viruses, trojans and spywares are more used to attack IE.

I use it. And yes, I do prefer it over Internet Explorer. Though, since I switched to Linux, Internet Explorer isn't even an option anymore.

i personally prefer IE to firefox. my boyfriend is using firefox and everytime i used his laptop to surf the web it just gets on my nerves. there is this extremely irritating script blocking that will not allow webpages to load fully or cost links to malfunction.
i do not believe that IE is more prone to getting Trojans. it is only a matter of which websites you visited. if you only surf clean websites, then where does Trojan come from? firefox is definitely not my cup of tea.

I personally like both. I like the looks of IE7 and the fact it holds the font size setting (somthing FF doesn't do, I constantly have to adjust the size to display pages correctly) I like FF as it loads faster, however it's not compatible with all sites (but is with a very good percentage of them) It does have a skin you can set for it to function & look just like IE7
FF is all I use now (tho I still have IE7 installed as a backup) I got tired of IE loading soooo slow.

Firefox is way cooler. If you want to try something new though, try opera. It has some very nice features that neither browser offers like voice commands.
