I read some where that he wasn't good in math at all in school and then he turned out to be one of the best scientists of all times...?How could this be?

He is believed by some to have had a form of autism known as Asperger's Syndrome, which prevented him from performing well in a structured environment but also gave him insights and connections that "normal" people would not have.

Doubtless it is profound. I tend to doubt the validity of quotes attributed to Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain and possibly Will Rogers. They are about as valid as psalms attributed to King David. And just because a man alleged to have been a genius may have said it does not necessarily mean that it is true, or true for all time. There is evidence, for instance, that his wife did a lot of the mathematics on his Theory of Relativity. Have you looked at the evidence that he may have had Asperger's syndrome? He didn't do too badly for a file clerk in a Swiss customs office. What contribution have you made to Western Civilization? How long shall we expect this question to have top billing in Homework? Is this the result of the new layout, the same dreadful questions having the shelf life of Twinkies?

It is impossible to know without asking Mr. Einstein's opinion. However, many bright people are not interested in school. I believe it is because the role of public school is to equalize the "floor." This leaves the relatively bright students forming the "ceiling" to fend for themselves.

Often, even today, we dismiss the intelligence of children because they have a hard time concentrating on the tasks they are given.

Einstein was bored in school, didn't concentrate, and thus appeared to be a sub-standard student.

Moral of the story....there is more to a child than what you see on the outside!

2 reasons one its a fine line between genius and insanity and the other is he had dyslexia he saw his numbers and letters backwards and this was before the schools recognized the signs to dyslexia but when this was recognized and after looking at his papers and notes it was diagnosed

Because he had a problem with his social life. He may be a genius academically, but unfortunately, his social life was a lonely one.

I heard he got left back 4 times. He was probably to advanced to be sitting in classes that were elementary to him.
