Nevertheless, that commercial makes use of it in essentially the most horrible way, and misses the factor of Mellencamp's tune - which is to symbolize middle the us, to not glorify it. Plus, the lyrics are lame, and Mellencamp is in most cases a gifted songwriter. But what's up with "i will stand beside the thought to stand and combat"?
