As Tal said, it refers to the hair, rather than the genitals themselves. It also gives opportunity for a lot of double entendre jokes. Have u seen the British sitcom "Are You Being Served"? Mrs. Slocombe, the senior member of the ladies' department is always referring to her pusssy - meaning her pet cat.(English term of affection for cat). Hope this helps. (Should be spelt with 2 ss)

fyi "pusssy" is not referring to the genital area, it is referring to the "forest". get it? pusssy cat? if you don't get it, you shouldn't have been discussing it.
