Okay, I work at McDonald's I have been for CLOSE to two months..not quite yet, though. They're cutting back on hrs A LOT, especially this week, cuz they keep hiring new people. That's the bad thing about McD's. They'll hire ANYONE!
Chic-fil-a was just opened in my city, and there are a lot of benefits about it, the top one being that it's closed on Sundays.
McDonald's keeps trying to make me work Sundays, even though I told them before I got hired that I CAN'T work on Sundays...church!
McDonald's pays $6.15. I think Chic-fil-a starts at $6. It's a christian environment. My sister's bf works at the one in the next city, and he's getting paid 7 something now. They are very flexible with your schedule and when you need off work. So..??
If McDonald's keeps giving me few hrs(i only get 3 hrs this whole wk!), then I am definitely moving on.
But which is better in your opinion?
Either way I'm cooking animals. :/

chic-fil-a...... all the way.
first off, mcdonalds is disgusting. i havent eaten there in over 2 years now, and will never eat there again. anytime i would have something from there, it made me feel like crap.
second, chic-fil-a treats their employees better and as you already mentioned.. they arent open on sundays.
besides... have you had chic-fil-a's waffle fries??? theyre awesome.

Chic-fil -a respects their employees more and they will work around your schedule if you are in school. McDonald's hires more people because they turnover a lot of people because to them they are dispensable. Like you said Chic-fil-a is a Christian environment so they do not mind working with you and you get Sundays off. They may pay less but it is not always about the pay.

I don't know much about Chik-fil-a as I do about McDonald's...You are correct, when you mention about them cutting hours when hiring new people...

But I hate to break the news to you, Chik-fil-a will do the same thing...It's called cutting Labor...If they aren't making their record sells, then of course they have to cut back on the number of hours they are giving to employees...It's not about how much you make and many hours you bring each week...it's about how much processed beef you can sell...

With that being said; you haven't been at your job long (2months). You should really give it a few more months...but, if you notice over the next few months that your haven't been getting more hours, then I say go look for another job. Keeping mind you will have the same problem weather it's in fast food, retail or groceries.

Good Luck

The problem is Chic-Fil-A will really not be giving you all that many hours either. The whole Sundays off thing, ok, great, but that just makes it that much harder for everyone to get their hours. It really does.
What I wonder is, if you are that good an employee, why are you only getting 3 hours next week? That must mean you suck as an employee. Maybe you should go work for Chic-Fil-A!!

All I know is that not only does Chick-Fil-A food kick McDs butt, but their employees are the most help friendliest people in the World. I think it's because they are happy and encouraged to take their time and talk with the customers.

If they are willing to hire you,you must be a nice person too! Sunday's off and working in a friendly environment. It's worth it!! GO FOR IT!

Chick-fil-a! Is way better the food is fresher and the places are usually cleaner. And I'm glad there off Sundays. Sunday is Gods Day and places should be closed.
PS: people at chick-fil-a are alot friendlier too. Stand your ground you shouldnt have to work on Sundays!

Chic-fil=a!! I think being off on Sundays is a good idea. the owner of the resturant is a very religious man. Hang in there and you will eventually make more money!!!

A friend of mine owns a chick-fil-a franchise, and all of their employees seem to enjoy it. if you stick with them, there are all kinds of scholarship opportunities and benefits. they sent her to college and a bunch of other stuff. as a matter of opinion, i'd rather eat dirt than go to mcdonald's. their restaurants are dirty, their food SUCKS, and their employees are usually not that friendly. as far as money goes, if you're a hard worker, they'll likely bump you up pretty quickly, especially because you've got previous experience. you'd be better off at chick-fil-a.
