First they will ask about your health history, and the health history of your close relatives, just so they can get an idea of what types of medications you shouldn't take. Then the nurse will ask you a few personal questions like how many people you have had sex with, and if you are sexually active. They then did my height & weight then they will do a Pap Smear and breast examination, the pap smear is the worst.. just a bit uncomfortable.. but it doesn't hurt. Then the doctor asked me a few questions.. gave me 2 sample packs and i was on my way.

I take ortho-tri-cyclen & have no problems with it.

good luck!!

well, u don't say how old you are to begin with, but i would make an appointment with a gynecologist first to have your normal papsmear and pelvic exam and then explain to the GYN that you are either thinking about becoming sexually active or that you already are active and that you would like to start taking the pill to prevent geting pregnant... But there are other alternatives to oral medications for preventing pregnancy such as condoms, depo-provera shots, and other things, but make that appointment asap and discuss this with he/she immediately... Hope this helps

You'll probably have to have a "female" physical. Pap smear, pelvic exam, breast exam.

I've never heard of anyone starting the pill without that. They want to make sure everything is ok first.

they will probly do a pap smear on you and go thru your med history. then discuss different kinds of pills
try seasonale if you only want 4 periods a year. and they are lighter too on the pill well that kind at least.
