how they manage their monthly periods? are they on any harmonal tablets to curtail period for the duration of their trip in space?

They handle their monthly situation just like they do here on the surface of Earth. For a period of about 7 days they get irritable and easily ticked off at men. They yell and scream. They pick little fights about trivial items, and talk for hours on end over the telephone with friends about absolutely nothing.

They could handle them the same way I did, by skipping your period. When I was deployed for the first time, I was told by my gyno that I could take my regular BCP back to back, skipping the placebo pill week and just starting the new pack. This was WELL before the new BCPs came out. They do suggest that you have a normal cycle every few months, but it is not necessary.

there are products that can limit a period to a few times a year like sesonal or birth control that does the same like orthoevra they probably use these now but i have no clue how they managed before these things were invented, tampons mabey.
