Around male friends/brothers - not only do I do it, I do it with great amount of pride.
Female friends - never - if it hurts I'll excuse myself.
Sisters/Parents - not obviously, but if the smell is obvious I try to pass the blame.

My family has hardly heard me fart. Maybe 2 or 3 times in the last 10 years. Not my kids, spouse, parents, anyone. Why would I fart around them? That is just gross.

I am usually in the shy side when it comes to farting around familly and friends but completely the opposite with those whom I don't know very well

yes and no I'm not shy. Life's too short to be shy. As far as farting, I do it comfortably where ever I may be.

Yeah my husband let out BAD smelling ones that can kill a moose! I fart infront of him but mine aren't as bad! Honest!

Is this directed to the female gender? Cause typically it's the women that are shy when it comes to that...
As for me...I have no problem letting it go...even the Pope couldn't keep me from basking in it...
