Hello, and thank you for checking this out.

I currently have an associates degree in accounting and I am having a hard time finding a job... every employer seems to want experience in the accounting field and I have none.

I am getting ready to start my undergraduate program in accounting and now I am wondering about getting a job after I receive my bachelors degree.

Do you think it will be easier / harder to find employment in the accounting field with a bachelors degree and NO experience?

When I got my associate degree I landed a job as an assistant bookkeeper in a non CPA accounting firm. Great experience for a year to get the experience. I then moved to a CPA firm then another until I had 15 years experience before I went back and finished my degree. It was actually easier with less education because I was willing to work cheap and later made more as a bookkeeper than I could as a CPA.
Go ahead and get the CPA even if you don't want it, I dropped my license but it still helps for people to know I used to be one.

I am majoring in accounting as well. My college offers many opportunities to get internships while you are still in school. This gives you experience and some of the companies like to hire their interns as full employees after graduation.

Good accountants are always in demand. What you can do is get into internship programs as some have suggested. If this is going to be your profession I would suggest that you take licensure exams as a certified public accountant.

Peace and blessings!

Hi

Yes this a problem. Most people have no experience what so ever but they keep on concentrating on their "education" and that is what the problem is they have to work and then later in life continue their education.
