You really liked them and just lost touch.
How hard would it be to find them? They may want to hear from YOU too!

I actually did that, and it was one of those "you can't go home again" moments. We had both changed so much and gone in different directions that we just didn't connect anymore. We still drop each other a line now and again, but it is definitely easier to remember what we had than to try and bring it back.

My best childhood friend and I both moved off, we both became nurses, and now are in the same town. We know how to get in touch, and are friendly when we run into each other.
The sad thing is, she endured a lot of abuse growing up, things I didn't know about. She has opted to put a lot of the past behind her. I think that she does care about me, but I represent something she doesn't want to deal with now.
I'm still her friend, and I'll stand by her decision. Maybe one of these days we can get together and raise heck like we used to.

Yeah my friend Karen I knew from 6th to 10th grade. I wonder how she lives her life if she ever got married, or had kids? I looked up on a web site: USA people search.com and found out what town and state she was in with out even paying but for me to get her phone number would coast I think 20 or 30 dollors. I hope I'll talk to her some day.

Yes I do...I had many childhood friends, but we moved when I was 8 to the country, and lost touch with all of them, many were boys too! I never cared about the cooties thing.

It scares me sometimes to think that the joyous memory that I have of them would be ruined if I knew the current life they live. They could be dead, they could be a druggy, they could be in jail. Little Kelly that I thought was so sweet and kind could right now be sweet and kind to a man in exchange for a 10 dollar bill.

Interesting question. With the exception of the dead one, the one who went off the edge a little and the drunk, the whole gang still gets together at least a couple of times a year. One is still my best friend, 47 years later.

My friend Gary. His family moved away after he graduated high school, and I have not heard from him. I know his mother died tragically as a result of a car accident.
