Why fix a thing that ain't broke? This is a team built for the future. See it this way: Danny Ainge has done absolute chaos to the Boston franchise prior to his last two trades the only bright side going for him is Al Jefferson. That is why Red Auerbach asks before he passed away: "When will another championship banner be raised in Boston?" or the alleged Paul Pierce-asks-trade if Danny Ainge don't give him the support he wants. See Boston is so desperate to find the quality players deprived from them in the past decade (All their teams from the 60's, 70's and 80's delivered championships). Boston is a mighty proud franchise and I have utmost respect for them. By doing the trade Kevin Mc Hale kind of pays tribute to Boston and Danny Ainge saves his job. John Paxson built a good team and is nowhere desperate to break it again for the sake of an aging superstar. (Remember that the average age of these Bulls team is 27, They've got lots of play-off games ahead of them).

Because Paxon wasn't willing to part with their best big men which is what Boston gave up.
