Yes, it is very normal to experience these symptoms just after a few days of taking hormones. They are very powerful and affect women in a lot of different ways. Nausea is a very common side effect. Basically the birth control pill tricks your body into thinking you are pregnant, so you don't ovulate, so many women experience "pregnancy" symptoms while on the pill.

Some women take their pill at night or take it with food and that helps a little.

I was on Othro TriCyclin also ... I had some fluid weight gain, not enough to make me miserable, but I still noticed. This could definately be just a side effect until your body regulates to the pull. I would say 9 chances out of 10, your not prego. If your period was on time, and you took precautions before you started the pill - then your pretty safe. If you want to make sure, take a HPT. Then once it rules out that - finish taking your pill for the rest of the month. If the pill still makes you sick, I'd try something else. Some B.C. Pills can be to strong .....

It all sounds like a side effect of the pill, more so if you have never taken them before. I felt awful when i was taking birth control the first time. It should let up by your next period. If not let you Dr. know. S/he will tell you what to do from there.

Yeah this can be a side effect of the pill. Your breasts will adjust, it just takes time. As for the nausea try taking the pill at bedtime with a few crackers and hopefully you will just sleep through it. If it doesn't lighten up or gets worse call your doctor. There are lots of BC pills out there.

I felt pregnant on those pills. They made me very sick for the first I would say 3 months while my body adjusted. I ended up having really bad migraines and my breasts hurt all the time. My periods i cramped really bad, worse than normal.

you can get pregnant within the first month of being on birth control, but birth control makes your body think you are pregnant so it wont ovulate, read the pamphlet that came with the BC or call the pharmacist to double check, but i'm pretty sure thats normal.
