What do you think about movie directors who make horrible scenes in their horror films, filled with a lot of darkness and violence?
Do you think they may have some kind of mental illness?
Are they suffering from mental issues?
For example, movies such as the ones listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:1990s_horror_films

Their darkness has another name.
It is GREED. They know plenty of freak shows will pay to see their garbage.

Why are all these movie related questions showing up in P&S? Go figure.

I don't think directors who make those kinds of films are necessarily demented or anything. Look at S. King - his father was a Methodist preacher and he writes some of the darkest stuff you'll ever read.

your question is basically like asking : "why are some people the way they are?".

I know a huge group of people who totally and utterly enjoy all the grotesque and downright horrendous violence and macarbe in a horror flick - these are hardworking uber normal people - they could ask you the same question : what mental sickness do you have? why are you that bland and plain so as to rather all together avoid vivid gore of life?.

Celebrate the diversity of thinking - dont question it : it only defines the parameters of who you are.

You are quite opinionated and more than a little judgmental. Perhaps they make them for the millions of "mentally ill" people who want to escape into a good scare or suspense story?

Just a thought.
