Hi Betta girl ;-)
Breeding guppies is extremly easy, but there is no way to make money on them
Breeding bettas isn't that hard either if you have the right equipment for it and a lot of patience as well, to make money on them? I'm not so sure, email MM for that, he owns a store, so he can tell you if you could make money with breeding bettas
But here are also a couple of great sites to learn more about spawning and raising the fry

Hope that helps
Good luck

There are pros and cons to both species. Male bettas have to be kept apart, so if you are trying to breed for different colors and strains, you have to keep more tanks going at once. Mind you, they don't take as much room so you can keep more in a smaller space, but they should still have filters and heaters and you'll have to do water changes on all those small tanks. Also, breeding is harder on betta females as they often get beat up by the males during courtship and you have to condition the pair carefully before you put them together. Sometimes the pair you want to breed just don't get along and it doesn't work out, so your planned cross is down the drain and you have to find another male or female to breed. The fry are tiny and grow much more slowly than guppies and take a long time to develop the beautiful fins and colors you see on the adults.
With guppies, breeding is easy. Put a male with a female and you're going to have fry. No conditioning, no worrying about the female getting hurt, no having to separate all the males into individual containers. You can dump your whole strain into one tank and see what comes out. Also, they have fry more often and the fry grow more quickly and develop finnage and colors faster than bettas. You can raise a couple of generations of guppies in the time it takes to raise one betta to full potential. This gives you more scope to breed for a specific color or fin shape.
You have to have a lot of tanks to raise the fry and keep your sexes and strains separate no matter what you decide to breed. Be prepared to cull the fish that don't show the traits you want. Not all your fish are going to be big money fish, but if you keep careful records and do a good job, you can get top quality fish from either breed.

Guppies are much easier to breed as they are live bearers. Female guppies will drop live young about every 28 days. If your planning on breeding guppies it is important to start out with a good quality strain. If you allow your guppies to crossbreed with other strains it will lower the quality of the offspring. Inbreeding in guppies is actually a good thing. Starting out with an ordinary pair of guppies you can develop a decent strain in about 5 or 6 generations.
Bettas are also inbreed to develop the brights colors and large fins. Breeding Betas is much more complected both male and female must be in top condition to breed. They must also be compatible. If they are not compatible the male will probably end up killing the female. The temperature of the water must be above 80 degrees in order for the male to build a nest. The aquarium should not be more than 5 gallons unfiltered with no air bubbler (the bubbles will destroy the nest). The male and female should be kept separated by a barrier such as glass so they can see each other and become conditioned to each others presents. After the nest is complete the barrier can be removed and if all goes well they will spawn. After the spawning the female should be removed as the male will tend the nest till the fry start to hatch. The fry are extremely small and can only eat near microscopic food.
Even if your able to raise bettas to adults they will probably not be of the same quality finnage and coloring as their parents. If you decide to go with bettas it will no doubt be easier simply to buy your fish rather than tring to breed them.
I have raised guppies for some time now. My favorite is the Moscow green. Like I said if you want to breed guppies start with a good strain and dont crossbreed them with other strains. Good quality guppies are not cheap. Check out
http://www.aquabid.com If your interested in guppies email me and I will send you two trios of Moscow greens (2 males 4 females) for the cost of shipping. Also don't believe everything you read about guppies eating their young. They will not eat them if they are well fed. Also if there are some plants to hide in the fry will have a better chance. They grow quickly and are adult fish at four months. You probably will want to invest in a couple of brood tanks for the young fish.

Breeding guppies is extremely easy, but because of that harder to sell, most places don't pay alot for bettas either and they are much harder to breed. To get bettas to breed requires a large setup of different tanks, making sure you put the female in the tank only when the male is ready, or he'll just kill her, making sure you can separate the parents from each other and from the eggs when needed, and properly taking care of the babies once they get bigger since you'll have to separate them all from each other too. (lots and lots and lots of separate jars or other small containers.)

breed guppies its easier. You can do it !and it is done very often to "fix" desirable traits such as tail type or color. Here's the thing... while you are fixing the good traits, you are also fixing bad traits. So yes, do it to get the traits you want, but occasionally bring a new fish from a different line into the mix. That will keep your line stronger and healthier. I make sure to add a new fish to my line every 4 generations.

Guppies are really easy to breed, but they don't sell for much... or at all. Guppy parents will eat the young, but they reproduce like rats! I accidentally bred them, and they all lived. (bought Momma pregnant without knowledge) They are really cute!

Dont breed guppies. They are very small when they are first born, and they don't sell for very much. Plus, you will have to invest in a new tank for the new borns or else the mom/dad will eat them. Same with beta's. good luck!

thinking the shown fact that they are all flaring, they're probable all men, and that they do no longer seem to be bubble-nest-construction because of the fact they seem to be far too under pressure with the aid of being waiting to be certain one yet another. As Catx stated, you extremely shouldn't placed them interior the pond except you reside in a tropical section and can assure a minimum temperature of 24*C 365 days-around, in spite of the time of day.
