Well the three Primary "Architecture Developers" are AMD, Mac, and Intel. (MAC's G series processors are not technically CPU's, but since they are marketed as such, I'll include it)

Many companies from around the world "manufacture" CPU's along these three lines of Architecture.

Older CPU's were as I can recall (some no longer around)

CyrixInstead (makers of MediaGX, 6x86, 6x86MX)
Centaur (CentaurHauls C6)
NextGen (NexGenDriven NX586)
Transmeta (GenuineTMx86, Crusoe TM3x00 and TM5x0)
Rise (mp6)
UMC (U5D, U5S)
SiS (55x)
National Semiconductor (Geode, GX1, GXLV, GXm)

I know you asked for three, but theres what I know

Hoped that answered your question sufficiently.

50c is pretty hot. You may want to make sure that heatsink/fan are securely locked in place. It may be a software issue, like malware or a virus. I'd run a full anti virus scan, and an Adaware scan. Also check your hard disk, run chkdsk /r from the command prompt for each hard drive.

MIPS, Hitachi, Fujitsu

Yes, they all make CPUs.

MIPS CPUs are found in SGI workstations and older tandem processor banks.

Hitachi makes its own processors found in its mainframes, storage systems and other equipment.

Fujitsu made Sparc clone chips to compete with Sun.

Asker said to name 3 cpu manufacturers, which I did. Why thumbs down?

AMD, Intel, and SiS.

Cyrix (the company) doesn't exist anymore (merged with National Semiconductors; National Semiconductors later sold Cyrix to VIA.)

AMD, Intel, Texas Instruments - that's 3

Transmeta, National Semiconductors, Centaur, Via - that's 3 more plus a bonus one.
