My hunch is the ECS line of mainboards. Any other opinions?

Probably MSI. That's what they put in all those old shitty Packard-Bells.

Last 3 years repairing computers in Perth Australia, a lot of problems with the cheaper end of the range in ASUS followed by Gigabyte
