I installed WinXP and it formatted my drive. Now I have no drivers. I can't connect to the internet, because there's no network driver, my graphics are stuck at 4 bit (no video driver) and I have no sound (no sound card driver). The moron from telus says I need to take it in, but there MUST be something I can do myself. Help! Why can't XP find the drivers that are probably there? How does anyone install this ******* program without it ruining their computer? Please help me fix this.
I bought this computer off of some guy. There are no CDs. For anything.
THERE ARE NO CDS WITH THIS COMPUTER. FOR ANYTHING. I NEED ANOTHER WAY TO DEAL WITH THIS.
There are no cards for anything. The card slots are empty. The ethernet plug, the sound cable, it all just goes into the motherboard. So I can't even look up the cards. Is there nothing I can do?

Yes you can get all of the divers back, assuming that XP does not have the drivers u need for your system. All u will need is an internet connection from a friend (I assume that's how u left this question) and the model # from your motherboard. Somewhere on your board should be manufacturer name and identification #. Some will be printed big like "ABIT AB6" "SOYO SYB90" or whatever and some will be smaller like "Intel 945GCL". Anyway, look up the manufacturer's web site and download all of the recent driver releases for your model board and install. The second way of finding out your motherboard model number, again u will need internet, is to download a program called cpuz. It does not require installing just copy and open exe. It will tell u the manufacturer and model # of the motherboard the program is running on. you could also try PC wizard 2006, but its a bigger program and requires install. Again go to website and download drivers to install. Keep them just in case it happens again!

Curse that guy who sold the PC to you w/out even a burned copy of the driver CD. Go to another PC w/ internet access. Download your drivers from the motherboard maker. Burn that file into a CD. Use that CD to install the drivers to your own PC. KEEP THAT CD IN A SAFE PLACE.

If you have bought a branded pc (If not, find out what is the brand/model number of the motherboard - it should be printed on the motherboard itself), get the model number and getting a friend to help, check the manufacturer's website for the drivers and download this to a cd.

XP has most of the drivers in the system, which should run all your systems, go into control panel and you should be able to see what you have , for the internet you need your provider details , once you get on the net you can find any other drivers you may need

You may find a computer technician to solve your problem. A good technician can solve problem like yours even without drivers left when you bought your pc (he will provide by himself for this matter). But ask first how much he will charge you, and if affordable then proceed.

If you want to fix it by yourself, then please check DRIVERAGENT (link below), see if it can help.

Since you said you can't get online, then try this another one- 'MY DRIVERS'. I've used this for a long time to backup all my drivers. Just download it (from pc with internet), then installed it to the pc without drivers and then run.

Good luck!
