Acording to the ancient Vedic Knowledge, this world is governed by higher authorities, called demi-gods who are superintendents of the whole material creation. There are Millions of demi-gods overseeing all activities of all living beings and they also are in charge of the rain, wind, and all natural occurrences. Nothing goes unseen. Though we may seem to have a chaotic government in the US or other nations, and the judicial system may be all screwed up, justice will always be served. The laws of karma and nature are stringent. No act will go unseen. If we want to raise our consciousness or even our personal standard of life we have to follow the laws of nature properly or we will degrade ourselves and in our next life we will suffer the consequences. When we attempt to take the full scale of the natural universe into consideration
We realize that we are in proportion smaller than the smallest known sub atomic particles sitting among the threads of an infinite tapestry. From this perspective it is impossible to understand where one thread leads let alone comprehend the subject matter of the tapestry. Chaos is a name we apply to possibilities of such vast magnitude that we cannot calculate or comprehend their number. There are laws that do govern all of these possibilities of which we as the human race are just becoming aware of through the study of physics, quantum mechanics, string theory and so on. So in reality that which appears to be chaotic is actually probabilities governed by laws beyond our comprehension. The authority of natural law is absolute and we are subject to it without question. In this we do not have any option but to be governed by the laws of nature. Perhaps in this we are conditioned to accept the inevitability of being governed to a certain extent. As mankind’s intellect develops we may at some point reach a place at which the concept of man governing man will become unnecessary and we will no longer be at odds with the laws of nature.

If we take Nature as a whole it is chaos with order. Each species has it own distinct life pattern that it seems to know when it is born. It follows these patterns by way of learning from it's parents. Who in turn learned from there parents or from just plain instinct because each species may or may not been born with a parent to protect them.
When you look at humans we can see through our history that there are some people that want to be led and some that want to lead. When you take a mass of people and put them together you are going to get some sort of authority in place. Whether this is by martial law or by Intelligence with a set of systems in place like a government system. People have figured out that with more people in play we can get more done. This is why governments have been put into place to regulate all the things the mass amounts of people are doing.

I think that nature is like a tapestry. If we look from the bottom all we see are a bunch of various shades and types of strings hanging, but from the top, there is a pattern. So, what looks like chaos unknown to what reason to us is actually a beautiful pattern taking shape.
Take a look at the current show "clean this house." Before the home can be cleaned, everything has to be removed and it can be even more of a mess during the process. But the finality, the culmination is beautiful.

Nature is formed by a series of enigmatic divine patterns. Humans, the creation of nature, is why you would call a lawless chaos. Government is not always necessary to survival nature can do that. You don't see lions, tiger, elephants and giraffes forming a government to survive, yet they are doing very well. But humans may need a government for control and survival, since our intelligence makes us do stupid things.

Actually, I see nature as a chaos pattern....
I used to think that gov't was a necessary evil. The older and wiser I get, the more I question the "necessary" part. I could probably live in an anarchocapitalist society with other like-minded individuals, but unfortunately there are still many who do not possess the discipline or maturity to live without gov't and many more who are financially dependent on gov't like a junkie is on his dealer.

Let me guess??? Sociology class?
I guess I see nature in terms of Divine Pattern. Government is not necessary for personal survival.
I think the fact that we even ponder the authority of nature could explain why we are such bad stewards with the gifts that nature has given us.

I will go with the divine pattern. And, no, government is not an absolute necessity for personal survival. Personal survival requires air, water, food, shelter (to include clothing) and protection from disease, harmful animals, and harmful people.
