IDE and E-IDE are synonymous nowadays. SATA is much faster than IDE, so it is usually the better choice. You would have to check to see if your motherboard has a SATA controller (it most likely does).

ide is the old technology E-IDE is as now, ATAPI (software driven) is for CD Roms and SCSI, Sata is the new technology no faster that the E-IDE system, but a little more expensive, so go for the sata drive if you have sata connectors on your motherboard, make sure you get the sata power and data cables with the DVD burner, if you don't it will be no good to you...
