If there was a chance of winning, we would have won by now. This war has been going on over 1000 years. Getting a bigger hammer is not going to make any difference. The prime military strategy is to exploit success and abandon failure. This is failure. The basic idea of this war was to get reelected and secure the oil reserve for big oil profits. The reelected thing worked, but I hope we nationalize the oil industry to pay for the war. The cost of 9/11 is about 2% of the cost in lives and resources of the Iraq war. ~

We? "We" were always on the road to winning in Vietnam too. But, "we" weren't over there - just like now - young men & women dying to prove the "good ole boys" are right. Just like before - it's more important that we NEVER admit that we just might need to bring our people home because we can't win their civil war for them. Saving political face at the expense of young lives is immoral.
How can you write with such political bravado while people are dying? You diminish their sacrifices. Shame on you.

A lot due to the fact that they have a lot of money to buy the crows. They sure as he** ain't spending the money on armor to protect our troops. If they were true democrats, they would be doing their job by financing instead of trying to run and ruin this war. They are doing something for the first time that they know nothing about. Pull our troops out of Iraq and the war will be here, at our front doors here in the USofA. Oh...just for the record, my son is over there protecting us so we can bit*h on this computer without having to worry about bullets flying overhead and nightly motar attacks.

I am another one that would like to know how you define "win". No the Democrats won't have to eat crow. Like the rest of us just relieved that it's over. Over so our troops can come home and really protect The United States.

Why are you so focused on the Democrats?
Why aren't you asking this Republican administration why they aren't handling this quagmire better???
Wasn't 4 years more than enough time to have this situation under control??????
This administration had no idea what they were getting into when they decided to start this battle!!!
No they are reaping what they've sown!!!
Don't you remember how we celebrated as a unified America when Saddam was captured and his military was decimated????
Of course everyone Dem & Rep wants the U.S. to be on the side of victory!!!!!!
But even Gen. Petreaus has said this war cannot be won solely militarily!!
Bush keeps shopping for Generals who can accomplish 'HIS"(Bush) goals!!
The problem is Bush is not listening to their judgements!!!

This is not a military solution. Victory will be through a diplomatic solution. This is not going to happen while the Republicans are in power. If we win in Iraq, it will be the Democrats that do it.

The Dems have been playing this conflict for maximum advantage since it started (yet nearly all of them sounded just like Bush before it started . . . amazing isn't it?)
I am now convinced that the Dems would sacrifice the life of every soldier in Iraq if it meant gaining more political power.
If we had the guts to start charging people for treason and sedition again, half of the Democratic Party would be in jail, and the other half would be lined up in front of a firing squad.

A lot, and don't you just love these moron libs who believe the Dems like Reid and are totally ignorant of the fact that we are actually winning in Iraq so much so that even the wacko lib media has to admit it. They'll soon be singing a new toon like they were never wrong ro begin with. But, hey, that's libs for ya......,.

They will do what they always do, change their stories. They will remind everyone that they voted for the war and when clips of their anti war war statements are played they will claim they were taking out of context- liberal voters will by into it all will go on with business as usual.
It is neat how so many lib commentators and think tanks have started to see what is really going on in Iraq. It is hard to deny the progress and potential once you have seen it first hand as these guys have learned. Once one is able to push blind ideology aside, reality becomes so much clearer.
