Is name-dropping a part of human nature?

Is it true that we as human beings seek an opportunity to present itself by name-dropping and hoping it would uplift us higher?

Name dropping could work both ways for better or worse it depends on the person and how he/ she uses it.
However, it's always human nature when it comes to wanting to feel superior or a feeling that they're better than others which name dropping provides...

We are all seeking a way to uplift ourselves up...the difference is the way we do it. some ppl may find name dropping somewhat offensive. and some ppl dont. But I refuse to believe its part of our nature.

Lets see....
I know the band "the Adolescents". I went to elem. school with Frank (Agnew)
well..... It uplifted me for a second or two.

I stood in the same line for a ride at Disneyland with Gary Busey once...whooo, that's so cool!

but i makes me feel creepy when I know a woman who went out with Clara Harris (dead) husband's brother

Funny story about that...

I was having diner with the Pope and Queen Elizabeth the 2nd when the subject came to name dropping. We were wondering why people were so vain that they needed to constantly mention more important people than themselves in order to make themselves appear better. It' one of the reasons I don't talk to Tom Cruise much these days; He does that even more than Bill Clinton and it just drives me and Angelina Jolie crazy!
