I am soooo bored!!! Do you peal your potatoes or leave the skin on when you maked mashed potatoes?

I've always peeled, but I've seen people leave them on & that's ok too.

I always peel my potatoes before I make mashed potatoes, but I leave the skin on with those little red potatoes, and boil them.

you must be bored. I normally peel the potato's before I boil them; HOWEVER, like anything there is "gray" area and exceptions. As I annually prepare my traditional Irish St. Patrick's Day dinner I will purchase the Rose potato's and peel only the center section - the ends are well washed and skin remains on them. There is an answer you likely weren't expecting; I can only infer upon your question that you thought a) all peeled, or b) all skin remaining, so, c) I show you that even a question like this can have a critical approach where only half the potato is peeled and the other half is not. This only occurs once a year - the dinner consists of many other good Irish things, all of this to honor my ancestors who came through Ellis Island at the turn of the last century (previous millenium - LOL).

When I was in the Army I pealed potatoes. Now I just buy instant mashed potatoes. I don't care what anybody says I like them the best!!! I hope you get over your bordom soon.

confident it would be nice. in basic terms chop off any bumps off the floor in the previous boiling, the mashed potatoes could have a smoother texture. And salt the water nicely so as that the floor gets quite delicate. the secret's to boil on LOW warmth for 40 5 minutes.

I usually peel them, but if I use red skin potatoes, I will leave them on.
