After bettas spawn, the male should move the fertilized eggs from the bottom up to the bubble nest he made. He will then keep the eggs up there until they hatch and will keep the fry safe in the bubble nest until they are free swimming. After the fry is free swimming he'll probably decide they are a snack though and will need to be removed.

He'll pick up the eggs in his mouth and spit them into the bubble nest. After all the eggs are in the nest, he'll guard the nest until the eggs hatch. He usually rebuilds the nest if some of the bubbles pop. After the eggs hatch, remove the male and feed the fry brine shrimp or fry food.

after spawning is done, the male will always move the eggs, use his spit to cover the eggs to prevent them from getting infected.

the male will always get the eggs that have fallen, move the bubble nest, and build the nest.

When they hatch he will continue to take care of the fry.

After they are free swimming, he can be moved.

Allow him to be in a tank with very clean water for a few days. Recovery is next.
