Hate to tell you but a 4 cylinder just isn't going to sound as good as a V-8. I have a custom exhaust on my turbo 4 and at idle it has a nice purr but you don't really hear much until I hit high rpm's. Don't get one of those fart can mufflers you see on the back end of rice mobiles. I recommend a Magnaflow cat back system or universal muffler.

Don't do it. I thought the same thing with my Alero a few years ago and it didn't happen. So ended up selling the car and bought an older fox body Mustang with a 5.0. You'll never get a good muscle sound out of a 4 cylinder nor a 6.

Nice talk ("fart bag")! If you need a louder exhaust system, visit www.cherrybomb.com. They make 'glass packed mufflers that'll increase the decibel readings on almost any vehicle. By the bye, I think you meant "Dodge Stratus", since I can't seem to find any "Dode Stratus". Good luck!

Unfortunately, whatever system you put on there is still going to sound like a four cylinder.

Maybe a Flowmaster or turbo muffler will give you a little lower rumbly sound, but it still won't sound like a V8 car. It's just not possible with your engine. Shouldn't be as annoying as one of those stainless steel noisemakers, though.

Take it to Midas. Get rid of all the emissions control junk, catalytic converter, and muffler altogether, and have them weld in a stainless steel straight-through pipe to each of the engine exhaust ports. It will sound just like a harley.

... so you want a 4 cylinder to sound like it has power? I recomend you dont do anything to your car at all if you want it to sound meaty.
If you try this will be a failed attempt!
