My husband and I have been married for two years now. We've been together for five years total. At first, we had a healthy sex life; however, when he got his otr truck driving job only six months after we married, things started to gradually go downhill in the sex department. I'm always innovative and very sexual when he comes home (he drives for three weeks and comes home for 4 days), but through the one year and a half that he's been driving, our sex life has gone from healthy, to pretty much non existent. We'll be intimate the first night he comes home, but afterward, it's foreplay (if I initiate) and that's it. Nothing else during the rest of his stay. He's 28 yrs old and overweight. I've heard that some overweight young men have trouble in this area. But how much trouble can an overweight male have in the peak of his sexual drive? Any honest and mature opinions?

I have been married almost 7 years and my husband is a truck driver too. He has been a truck driver for 7 months. I noticed that we rarely have sex either any more. I have been trying to discuss this issue with him but he doesn't see it. Last time he came home I started watching him. I finally confronted him and just as I thought.....he is too tired. He spends the first day home exhausted. The next two days he wants to just relax and chill out. The last day is pretty much spent getting ready to go again. I really think these poor guys are over worked and need more time to relax. Four days home isn't anything compared to the three weeks that they are gone. I really know what you are going through. Just love him and let him know you are still there. I think it will all work out in the end. Try talking to him about you feelings. Good luck to you all and God bless.

There's a reason why "Truck Drivers" have such a reputation for being h*rny... from experience, the road vibration can give a guy a h*rd-on. Especially when there's no trailer attached, the vibration is much more intense. This explain the action you get the first night he's home. The rest, I'll give the benefit of the doubt and Bet that he's tired from the road. How many people are exhausted after a long road trip, much less weeks of staring at the road? Talk to him, it could be simpler than you think. OTR driving is tougher than most people know. Being overweight can have a bearing, but give the guy a chance. It's a little embarrassing to admit the "effects" a vibrating truck can have on a guy. And if he's away for that long a stretch, you're still learning about each other.

I agree that he is way too young to give up on sex. It's very possible that he is getting in somewhere along his work route. You do know that sluts frequent truck stops and seduce truck drivers. Go through his truck and look for clues. Find any female articles? Smell like perfume? or worse sex? See any porn magazines or porn movies? After an investigation and if all looks like he's staying true then I would just talk to him. Tell him that you find him wildly irresistible, no matter what his self image of himself may be and that you want him. If he can't give you a valid reason why he's not hot and bothered in the bedroom then ask if he will go to therapy with you. It could be as simple as he is depressed with his lonely job and needs a new job and or antidepressants. You will never find the cause unless you ask and search for the answer. Now that I think about it a little more I am leaning more towards him not being happy with his job, but other things are possible too. Good luck and don't give up. Do Scott land Yard proud and find the root of this problem!

Not seeing eachother for so long can take a toll.
-Keep doing what you are doing
-obesity is a huge problem for truck drivers, he'd best watch out.
-Call him every-other night, not every night
-start varying the "surprise" sex days. Do it the day after he comes home. If it's regular, it's boring. Maybe he'll take initiative sometimes.
-sex can be stressful sometimes. Get him a massage or hang out and do fun, relaxing things on your nights with him.
-go to a sex class or therapy class and ask a professional
-get a job or start saving. You want him to switch careers or stop working asap. Truck driving is lame. You can't be without him like this forever, or you won't last.

There is a possibility that he has another woman that he see's on his trucking trips. He does only see you 4 days a month. Also not to be harsh but make sure your not gaining weight or cutting your hair short. No matter what your girlfriends say, it always looks better long

i am a 30 year old man who has a problem i am 6'1 and
240lbs so as you can see i am 25lbs above where my doctor wants me to be there are things that can cause problems for someone my size diabetes, low libido, and sleep apnea, just plan old lack of rest...my doctor explained an erection as extra energy that the male has. the more work he does the less energy he has the less erections he has so somewhere in there is your answer and if not then he is most likely cheating or gay or just lost intrest in you...i do not mean to sound rough if i did but if i did then i am truly sorry

maybe he's really tired and wants to rest - sex is too much work for him especially if he's overwieght. Talk to him and tell him how you fell. Encourage him to eat healthy while he's on the road.
I don't want to alarm you but truck drivers have a tendency to meet other people that can fulfill their needs while on the road. Get yourself checked for STD and AIDS.
God Bless!

You have to ask yourself how healthy is his self confidence? Is he a strong presence in the house? Are you a strong presence in the home? House and home are 2 different things because they have different meanings. To your husband it's a house because he owns it. To you it's home because you live there. Did he do well in the bedroom and did he satisfy you in the bedroom? Did you feel loved in the bedroom and did you achieve an ohhh? As you can see men feel different about sex than women. If you complain to a man any man about sex he will isolate himself from you sexually. Men are lousy about reaching out emotionally about failure. You asked for my opinion and you got it. Just give him the illusion that he is sexually gifted, but keep it on a subconscious level.
