Like every profile that seems remotely interesting that I click on... all of their stuff is locked. Of course I am too lazy to try to become a fan and contact with all that crap just to see their questions and answers, but I mean... Sheesh! Is it only me that has noticed this?

I do not even really like really care, but who knew so many people were so private on a community based Q&A site. Ironic huh... Opinions?

It's because some jerks go through your Q/As and report every Q&A that might be even remotely in violation of the sacred TOSs in order to get an account suspended. Sad, isn't it, that this is what it's come to? That's why my Q&As are private and if you click on my avatar you can get a better explanation. I did open up my 360 page finally as it seems Y!A is incapable of delete it. A 360 is forever, apparently -- Even I can't even delete it.

mine are open. Yes i have noticed this as well. My God you would think people are protecting national secrets. Looking at peoples questions and how they answer is a tool I use to determine if someone is a troll. I think knowledge should be free and available. But no as a society we are so concerned with being politically correct, and we have become so touchy feely, and ya cant say what ya feel cuz someone somewhere might get their tender feelings hurt. Its enough to make ya sick. Ya wanna know how I roll? Where I am coming from you can look at any of my answers or questions and find out.I have nothing to hide. (Ya know it makes me wonder how long this site will last)

I asked a similar question earlier tonight. I don't get it either. They seem to blame it on trolls. But so what... what can a troll do to hurt you. Smother you with bad answers? Anyway, mine are not private. And I really enjoy looking at a person's Q&A once I see one interesting Q or A they've given.

I hope the trend reverses.

People do it to hide from cyber stalkers and trolls. I know what you're talking about though. Sometimes someone gives a funny or insightful answer so you want to see more of their stuff, but their profile is locked.

Sorry hon. We used to love to meet new people, get emails, talk freely. But the bloody trolls have forced everyone to lock up and shut up. I'm so F*CKING sick of p*ssy footin around all the time. It used to be fun here, then some jack@sses screwed it up for everyone. They can kiss every square inch of My Entire Lilly White @ss and pound sand up theirs.

Well, the reason I lock my email is because I dont have the time to sort through and delete 5,000 messages in my inbox.
If I wanted to connect with people on a different level, I would just go to chat rooms.

People are tired of being reported by snoopers for their questions and answers,,,,,,,,,,,,even old ones. Sad that this type of precaution is needed. It's not a personal cover up. It is just a safety measure in order to protect your account. You can thank the trolls for this.

mine is open, but i have had it closed at times. this site isn't what it used to be with the punks, religious wingnuts, retards, and vulgar people that are neither witty or clever going around reporting every answer or question by someone they take offense to. some are just tired of getting suspended over retarded stuff.

2007-07-30 15:24:46 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 3 0

I have noticed it too... I think it is retarded to lock them because you can go through all the questions and find them anyways... Mine are open for business and that's the way it should be... It doesn't help that there are a lot of trolls reporting certain people's questions.....

Mine is still open to the public.

I think that the over abundance of trolls is causing people to make their info more private.

My trolls find me regardless, so I don't bother with making my info private.
