I saw most of these when I was young and they seemed a lot more scary back then. Nothing seems all that scary anymore.
1. Silent Hill
2. IT
3. Aliens (the second movie)
4. Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (the old black/white version)
5. Return of the Living Dead
6. Nightmare on Elm Street
7. Friday the 13th part 2
editting this because I just recalled 2 scarier films I saw later, but they are kind of psychological.

the only movie that has ever scared the heck out of me was "Stir of Echoes" it a Kevin Bacon movie from the late 1990's
