That's a tough answer. It depends how much you want something. Giving your all is a commitment, but there's no guarantee you'll get the reward in the end particularly if you want something hard to reach like a music career. You have to ask yourself if you are willing to go all the way and ask yourself what would make you quit. If there are hurdles - there are always hurdles, by the way - you've got to be prepared to jump the hurdles or go around them. If it's costing you more than you are willing to give up or lose, then you know you must quit.

I quit when not quitting means I will never have a chance to give anything. This really just applies to cases of injury and death. With the mind I have developed now I can hold my hand in fire. The problem is, my skin will still burn. So until I master matter there are certain times where quitting is better than giving everything I have at that moment.

When you should quit:

1. When there's a better way.
2. When what you're doing is not working.
3. When it is beyond your limits.
4. When it's immoral.

When you should give it your all:

1. When it's the best way.
2. When you know it will work
3. When it does not go beyond your limits.
4. When it's moral.

Check your gut. There's a time to quit and there's a time to keep going. When Lenin pulled his troops out of the war, Russia looked to be weakened, but, in fact, Lenin saved a lot of lives and supplies that helped him in rebuilding Russia after the war. Sometimes we have to quit, and the best time, if we need to quit, is the moment right before all is lost - up until then, we give it our all.

You give it your all to the point when you realize you hate what you are doing or that you are not making any difference with all your efforts., Then, with all your energy spent, you move on to other things, or quit as you say.

When you feel what you're doing is more right then wrong (to you,and only you) you go for it,no matter what anyone says. You should never quit, because that makes you look weak and to lazy to give it your all.

I think you should never settle for anything less... instead push yourself to greater heights; never quit. At least even if you've failed, you can have solace knowing that you did the best you could.

When your closest friends start to call you a master of morbid introspection, then it's time to hang it up.
