Don't listen to some of these yahoos telling you to spread chemicals inside and around your home. It isn't good for you, your kids or your pets.

There's only real 2 spiders you should worry about- black widow & brown recluse. All other spiders are very beneficial creatures to your yard by helping to control the insect population.

If you really want them gone, or at the least moved, tell someone at a local nursery. Believe it or not, many people will go out of there way to get one and put it in their garden. The garden spiders (yellow & black) do an awesome job of keeping the area bug free.

Diazinon insecticide, use this around the house, hose down the webs, its most likely a large black an yellow garden spider, harmless an very good for gettin rid of insects. They respond to vibration in the web by quickly running over to the prey, and subduing it by rolling it into a straightjacket of silk. It's great fun to catch a fly and toss it into a garden spider's web. It's not much fun for the fly, but cheap entertainment for the family. any ways, unless its poison-es i wouldnt worry about it much.

Please do not kill this spider. From your description, it sounds like a beneficial which kills a lot of the insects which eat our food and bite us. I know spiders are icky to a lot of people, but if you had to live with the thousands of insects they kill, you would be wishing you had not gotten rid of them.

If so, then it is an orb weaver and other than having a bite that can sting, it is harmless. It is a beneficial spider that eats the bugs you would rather not have around. If one is in your way just get a stick, remove the web and it will probably relocate after being disturbed.
