I've seldom had problems going to sleep. Mostly a night person but lately when I read it doesn't take me long to go to sleep earlier than I want. I'd rather stay awake late at night then sleep during the day. I can do that because I am retired (no pun intended).

I don't eat sugar 2-3 hours before bed. If I'm having trouble sleeping I'll spray my bed linens with French Lavender Essential Oil. If that doesn't work, I'll drink a cup of tea made with Jamaican Dogwood, California Poppy and Chamomile with honey for flavor.

Going to bed at a regular time and setting an evening routine for yourself also is beneficial.

Take melatonin, don't eat late, drink milk or sleepytime tea,
take a sleeping pill, turn off all the lights in the house, play a boring video game, turn down the a/c.

BTW hot chocolate has caffine that will keep you up,
and don;t take a vitamin anytime after lunch,
cause it will keep you from falling asleep too.

It's got to be freezing for me to go to sleep. Then I cuddle up with my pillows and quilt and focus on some thought that doesn't stress me out inorder to keep out the thoughts that do.

I think it's important to have a routine. If you sleep well in pjs, always sleep in pjs. If you sleep well when you shower before going to bed, always shower before going to bed. Establish a routine a stay with it.
