It was a consensual realtionship, both were gay, but did not meet until adulthood. Do you think they should have stopped it?

That is wrong in so many levels.

No, since they are both consenting adults, I don't see the problem with it. My general rule is that everyone involved consents and is able to consent (i.e. old enough). My only problem with incest is due to the limited gene pool I'd rather the couple not have children of their own. Of course that's not a problem here.

As for the age difference? It's not that big of an age difference really. I've known perfectly happy couples with larger age differences (my parents have 17 years between them).

The capability for love that people have is enormous. If they truly care for each other I say go for it. Just keep it a bit low key since a lot of people would disagree with them and may react with violence.

In the end it comes down to whether they think that their relationship is worth the possible social stigma they'd face if they are found out. I say go for it if it makes them happy. In the end that's all that matters. NOT what others think or say.

Hmm, it kind of depends on how closely related they are. If the nephew is the son of the older man's sister, that's a bit too close for comfort. But say, the nephew is the son of a cousin, or the stepson of the older man's relative, then it doesn't sound so incestuous.

If their love is mutual, and they are deeply infatuated with each other, then I am sure you or anyone else for that matter can do anything to stop them. Yet, uncle-nephew relationships aren't really the most legal relationships in the system. If they are prepared to love one another, then they must be prepared to face ugly in their future.

The only nasty past I see in that is that the guy is his nephew. Being gay is cool, I don't mind. Age difference, so what, but the uncle-nephew part, that's too weird. Other than that, it's perfectly fine, I would say.

Absolutely, it is incest. Even if the relationship is consensual it is still wrong. There are too many fish in the sea to go for an uncle.

YES! That is incest! And, in my opinion that is sick! I mean gay people can do what they want....but not when it is your own nephew! EW! It doesn't matter if they met in adulthood they should have ended it ASAP!

I've got no problem with the age thing, but "Uncle Merv the Perv" needs to start dating someone outside of the family! There are a lot of fish in the sea, why would you want to dip your hook in your own aquarium?

Icky!

My initial emotional reaction is that the scenario you describe is completely revolting. However, my reaction and, for that matter, society's reaction is irrelevant. Two consenting adults should be able to do whatever they choose to do as long as it doesn't harm anyone else.

Considering all the aspects you included (they didn't know one another beforehand, so there was no familial coercion, he is 18 and therefore consenting, and will not procreate incestuously), I see no problem with it whatsoever.
