Yes, it is a horrifying practice. As girls get older, they have greater risks for infection and even death. I don't understand the reasoning behind such practices. But as far as I'm concerned, it is mutilation.
Just a little side note: I personally think male circumcision is unnecessary. It's practice was started for cleanliness and the prevention of infection. If boys are taught at a young age how to clean themselves, there should be no need for circumcision. But that's just me.

I'm not sure why this is in "singles and dating", but for what it's worth, I agree with you. I think that uncircumcised men are far more sensitive sexually speaking (in technical way, anyway) and all other things being equal, as a female I prefer it. There was once some limited research that suggested, simply by correlation, that uncircumcised partners were one factor often present in cervical cancer. That may have been refuted, but it was going around in a lot of places a few years ago. I did not have my son circumcised for the very reasons you mention. He was taught to clean his parts just like his elbows and it's never been an issue. The only issue he has had is being different than some of his friends, but I would say that probably was resolved after grade school. (*laughing)

You do not mention that there are several different variations of Female circumcision.
Most that people hear of are the horrors perpetrated on young girls. These are usually the brutal Pharaonic circumcision where all is removed and the girl is stitched up with a tube of some sort to allow urination. These girls have horrific health complications.
However you do not mention the form of circumcision legally sought by women in America today. In this surgery, the clitoral hood is removed leaving the woman more open to pleasure. This is called the Hoodectomy. It certainly makes it much easier for a man to please his woman in these ways when this is done. This particular form of circumcision is not illegal and many women have it done by surgeons in proper medical surroundings.
However, these are grown women making their own choices. That is entirely different than terrorizing a little girl and harming her.

You must be an imposter who has cloned Sanstrom. The real Sanstrom would think that female circumcision is a crude but effective method of preventing adultery. Look I am not saying I approve of this practice in any way, but people who are seriously into family values in Asia + Africa know that when u do this to a female she can't enjoy intercourse, there fore she has no reason to do it except her husband has ordered her to do it. In order for a man to establish an emotional bond with a baby that is analagous to the mother /child bond, he has to know that the baby is his offspring not that of some other guy that his wife commited adultery with.

It's definitely sick. However most of this cases occur in Africa (as least that I've heard of) and we do not have the ability to punish those people.
Even so, they would not understand, they have done it for generations and generations. It is unfortunately a part of the culture.
However, just because it's "culture" does not make it right. It should be eliminated and there are organizations out there educating women on the dangers of female circumsion.

This is ridiculous. It's not even your religion! You have no say in what they do. Just live your own religion and stop judging those with different beliefs, it's just not right! I think that same thing about his as I do everything else you've complained about; it's their choice!!! They can do what they want to, we can't prevent a parent from making their own decisions about their child or children. So just get over it and stick to your own religion.! I think it's just fine, because you can't really say what's going to happen to the girl YEARS from now. It's just not possible and it's not right to assume the lives of these girls are going to be ruined

I think it is horrible and disgusting. God gave both men and women the gift of sexual pleasure within their marriage. The cultures who practice this are barbaric and evil.

In some cultures it is the norm as is cutting into a young mans body to make patterns as a manhood ritual. What we say is grotesque and cruel in the US is socially acceptable in other countries. If this is done to a young child then she never knew the pleasure that comes from that area, so if you never experienced it then you never miss it. I for one find it appalling, but who am I to judge?

If they're circumcising a female, them something is definitely wrong. I've heard of that in other cultures and their reasons for it are really weird.

And you are my favorite chauvinist, you know that, don't you?
