Air fluff is no heat on at all - it just tumbles the laundry.

Permanent press cycle runs until the clothers are dry, then keeps running with the heat off for another ten minutes or so to let the clothes cool down slowly while tumbling. It is supposed to keep them from being as wrinkled. It may also run a little cooler than the regular high heat setting.

permit press uses a lower heat setting.

The Air Fluff is for when the clothes have been sitting in the dryer for a while after it has clicked off. Wrinkles will set in, the air fluff will help get the wrinkles out.

Permanent press: removes wrinkles.

Air fluff: non-heated; fluffs your clothes and decreases the chance of them getting wrinkles while they lie in your dryer, unfolded.

Regular is heated and works just fine.
