It could happen but there are a lot of possibilties. The Spurs core are intact, and that what makes them strong. But looking at the NBA landscape it's continously moving. Teams tend to strengthen their team to unlodge the current champions. So it's always 1:29 cause in the NBA you just don't know.

hell yaa all the teams have changed their entire roster while the entire NBA is looking to become the next champion with all new players (may i say all them players don't want the ring they want $$$$$$$$$) The entire Spurs roster stayed intact no one wanted to leave the spurs organization traded a few of our 3rd strings players but every new spur and all the veterans resigned because they know they are in their own level. everyone else is still trying to get out of college ball level. come on your joking to the fool who said r ref is no longer do some research all the games that the lakers and dallas and Phoenix won that were questionable ur ref, ref them all. On espn.com/nba who only ref 6 of the spurs wins and 9 of the spurs lost where as he had ref 15 of dallas wins 0 dallas lost, Phoenix 18 wins and 2 lost, lakers 8 wins 0 lost please the only reason players don't want to come to san antonio cause pop will not offer them any BIG $$$$ JUST A RING. We have veteran players who could of made millions else where but choose to stay what does that tell u Spurs and Detroit rd 2 suckaaa

I give them the edge. Amare needs to wise. up fouls at inopportune times and not the presence that Duncan is, the Suns are not built for finals success, neither is Dallas. Utah, if Boozer can enter the playoffs healthy and if Williams continues to improve at the point have a better chance to unseat the Spurs than the Suns or Dallas.
Detroit has lost their defensive edge and Sanders doesn't seem to know how to turn it around, Miami needs a little help to compete with the great point guards (Nash, Williams and Parker) in the West, Boston should be good, so should Orlando and New Jersey, who knows what Washington can become, but no one in the East can match the experience of Duncan and the match up difficulty that Parker brings. Throw in a great and innovative coach and the finals tested group of role-players and I say they are the preseason favorite.

Yeah they will be NBA Champions again, but next year that is a hard question....You still have Phoenix and Dallas. Don't forget that Denver will have their 1st full season with both Iverson and Anthony on the same team, so the Nuggets will be a great team next year. Also Houston will be the same threat as they always are.
Dallas lost in the 1st round this past season and you know that they are going to do something about it next season...Avery Johnson has something up his sleeve that he is going to do and it will probably work.
Phoenix has Nash and Amare and those two will be great as usuall and the Suns need to win fast because Nash isn't getting any younger....

To answer your question the Spurs can win in next year....will they, probably not because I believe there are other teams out there that has a better shot...but you can't ask this question yet until the season starts.

They have a legitimate shot to repeat, their only real concerns lie in the west. A lot depends on what they can add to their team this year. Last year they had trouble, and if they don't make a significant addition this year they will be in even more trouble, because so far they are the only team in the West not adding talent.
However, it is still way to early to make that decision. With the addition of KG to the Celtics the East now has a legitimate squad besides the Pistons. So you never know what is going to happen.

Lets see, they won it this year. They are far better than anyone in the East. So it comes down to the Suns. Sure its a heavyweight battle of the NBA titans, they certainly have a chance. So one 7 game series with one opponent is keeping them from repeating.

Unless the mavs dethrone the spurs again, they will be 2008 NBA champions.

Nope, there ref is gone. Just kidding, I really don't think so, the Mavs are going to be coming in with a huge chip on there shoulder. And the Suns are a powerhouse who will definately not fall for there crap again.
