It is possible he could be teething, but it is more likely that he's not. Drooling begins at this age and continues through most of the 1st year. The excess saliva is designed to protect his mouth from the multitude of things that will find their way into his mouth. Plus, his saliva contains antibodies that will help reduce the risk of bacteria and viruses from getting into his throat and intestinal track. Babies are in a very oral stage and like to have something in their mouth. Try a pacifier, teething ring, or help him to maneuver his thumb in the right position to help him self-soothe. Excessive fussiness is also pretty common at this age. Babies are moving out of the mostly sleeping and eating stage and are much more aware of what is going on around them. A fussy baby may need a change of position, some different scenery, something new to see and listen to. Very generally speaking, babies begin drooling around 3 months but teeth are closer to coming in around 6 months, but don't be surprised if no teeth appear in his first year. While it does happen, it is rare for a baby to be born with teeth.

yes its possible although the teeth may not break through the gums for several weeks.. the best thing to give the baby is teething tablets.. there safe and best of all dissolve instantly. you can get them at walmart, walgreens or cvs. with my own experiance the oragel washes out of the babys mouth cuz of all the drooling but this stuff works and doesnt wash out of there mouths. good luck

Aaah...how sweet. Yes, he's probably beginning the first stages of teething. My oldest cut her teeth without any fuss and I didn't know it until they started showing. My youngest let me know every tooth she ever cut. She actually cut one in a department store. YIKES...talk about mega fussy! When he really gets upset you can rub some teething gel on his gums. That does help some. I always waited until she was truly upset. I suppose I didn't want her to become immune to it. Cold teething rings always helped. Good luck, you have many more teeth to come.

Absolutely, some doctors will tell you that its impossible - well they used to anyway. My little one started teething around 2 months too. I found Hyland's teething tablets to help with the pain as it worked straight away because it releases a menthol in the mouth which soothes. It is all natural ingredients too.

Yes and some children are born with teeth, feel sorry for the mom. Time to break out the oragel.

He could, it's normal, I've heard of children that are born with teeth, it's not common, but it could happen. My baby began teething around two months as well, but I didn't see anything until two weeks ago, she was over six months.

Yes, he could be. My oldest son had both of his bottom teeth by the time he was 3 months old.
