Not really. Sometimes, they never come back and you're both stuck in a relationship neither of you want. But, also you have the issue of them coming back, but the timing just isn't right. Next thing you know, you grow apart. Other times, the person will never come back because they never learn there is no one else out there who is better for them than you.
Occasionally, they come back when they should, but lets face it: people can be complete selfish idiots when they have a notion to. And when that happens, nothing ever happens as it should. I figure, if they don't want to come back then let them go and move on.

Sometimes this is true. I took a dog off one time that came up in the yard and he returned so I took him further away and 2 days later he came back and I told him ,I guess you were meant to be here, so you can stay.

If you love something, set it free.
If it comes back, it will always be yours.
If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with.
But, if it just sits in your living room,
messes up your stuff, eats your food,
uses your telephone, takes your money
and doesn't appear to realize that you had set it free...

unless the person thinks you just want to get rid of them and that's that. they won't bother you anymore and you will be **** out of luck.
