Disagree! The Myth-buster show on TV did an episode about that...and they proved it wrong. All the old dogs learned some new tricks, some were better than others, but they could all learn. Plus we adopted an older dog a few years ago and he didn't know how to do anything and we have taught him to sit, shake and to catch food. But I do think it is a slower process...just like with older people...we can learn, it just takes us longer! :)

Disagree. You can teach an old dog new tricks, although it takes a bit more patience and effort than if the dog was young.

If you are talking about dogs, I am afraid it is pretty much true. Teaching any old animal something new is far more difficult than teaching a young animal.
But at times it can be done. I simply don't want to learn any new tricks and am happy to be set in my ways.

Depends on the breed. Some are so thick (the Rhodesian Ridgeback comes to mind) that you're lucky if you can teach a young one a new trick! But any intelligent breed (and there are plenty of them) can learn just about anything in their first 10 years. After that, they're practically at death's door, no matter what they are!

I disagree with that i teach my 15 year old dog to close a door , turn on the T.V all you have to do is try

i disagree, but i do agree it may be a lot harder to teach an old dog new tricks, since #1 puppies, like babies, soak everything up, and are very playful and eager. #2 i'd like to see someone teach a new tick to an old dog with alzheimer's!! lol

actually Mythbusters proved this particular myth wrong. They did teach an old dog new tricks. Or are you referring to relationships?? LOL
