I have never heard of flying maggots before in my life. Are you talking about flies ?

Thoroughly clean EVERYTHING that the maggots are on as well as the surrounding areas(about ten feet just to be sure) with HOT bleach water and anti-bacterial dish soap. You can vacuum up the little buggers first which will mean replacing the bag IMMEDIATELY after wards, yet it will help to expedite the whole process.

if they are flying, they are no longer maggots.... they'r flies.

throw away the garbage. the only time i've had em is when i'm too slow to empty the trash or there is something yucky building up in there, like a cabinet or something.

They could be flying ants.

Try an organic citris cleaner - lemon juice or a citris cleaner from the store. Most insects are repelled by and can be killed by the acid in the citris.

It's also a non-toxic way of cleaning and disinfecting your home.
