Today I was on my way home from school and I went through an amber light. Even though I had beaten the red light, I got pulled over. The cop bassically lied to my face telling me that the light was red for like two seconds.

I know that I'm innocent but there's no way to prove my case without proof that I didn't run that light.

It there a site that you can go to in order to access taping of traffic?

Thanks!

I don't think there is a site, but they should have to show you proof that you did.

I once got a ticket, long before the camera's, ran a yellow light, and was told if the back half of my car was not half way through the intersection before it changed to red, I had run a red light.

So who knows?

We got red light cameras here and they only start taping 6 seconds after the light turns red and only those violators get the ticket in the mail. If you see a small round type usually white thing that looks like a camera on a small pole on the light it may not be a recording camera. It was explained that those are traffic sensor cameras. they sense if cars are waiting to cross and adjusts the lights accordingly...If more cars are waiting on one side it might give them more time as long as there are not just as many cars waiting the other way. So first you gotta find out if there are any cameras for the intersection and next find out what type, traffic enforcement or sensor cameras.

Cameras recording cars running a red work off in ground sensors timed with the yellow to red change. Any cams high over the intersection may or may not be recorded. Call the NON emergency number and ask.
