In the so called "modern era", these would be my picks:

The 60's: Bart Starr or Len Dawson
The 70's: Roger Staubach or Bob Griese
The 80's: Joe Montana or Terry Bradshaw (late 70's -early 80's)
The 90's: Dan Marino or John Elway (late 80's -early 90's)
This decade: Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.

Honorable mentions: Fran Tarkenton, Johnny Unitas, Darrell Lamonica, Joe Namath, Sonny Jorgenson, Troy Aikmen, Steve Young, Curt Warner (???), Tom Brady (???), Marc Bulger (???)

After this year Favre will have the yards, completions, attempts, touchdowns, mvps, and wins records. Yes he will have the interceptions one too, but he never missed a game. So the ints are going to be high. Elway, Montana, and Marino missed at least 20 games apiece. Favre has none. Oh yeah, he won a Super Bowl too. And after all these years of playing he doesn't have half of the injuries that all the greats have. Keep kidding yourselves if you think he isn't the best. He already has a jersey in the hall of fame. Nobody has done that while they still played.

This is a tough one because if your looking for the best QB you sholdnt just look for stats you shold also look for who was a great leader on the feild and new how to win. One great one was Terry bradshaw who help lead the steelers to 4 superbowls in the 70s which they Won. At the end of his career Tom Brady had potental to be among the greatest QBs of our time along with peyton manning. But I would have to say the greatest one so far has been Joe Montanna.

Between everything Joe/Bret both sure had great offenses when they won there super bowls, but if they weren't that good of Qb's they wouldn't know how to pick the defense apart so in my opion they are the best of all time :)

You may not agree with me, but I truly believe Dan Marino is the greatest QB ever.

Sure, he didn't win a ring. But his stats and leadership were tremendous. He deserves to be the greatest QB ever. He made everyone around him better.

And, no, I'm not Dolphins fan, I'm from Boulder Colorado.
