ok this is kinda gross so don't judge me..:)
I just had a tampon in for about 9 hours.. and i know your supposed to have then in for 8 maximum. i wouldn't be to worried about it except that when i took the tampon out, i had finished my period and it was completely white. I feel fine, but if i did have it then what symptoms would i see-i took it out 2 minutes ago-how long would it take till i started to feel bad? do you think i have it? what are my chances? quickk help!!

oh and also.. i always use tampons, except when i sleep. and is there anything i can do quickly before any bacteria grows.. like to sterilize myself?? HELPP i'm soo scared!

I think your chances are slim so calm down. Be careful at the end of your cycle to remember to take out your last tampon. I've known women who forget them and end up going to the doctor for a bacterial infection but not TSS. Nasty but true. TSS is rare and i'm sure you don't need to worry. Feel better soon.

I highly, highly doubt it's TSS. It could've just dried you out like the other person said. If it continues after a while, call a doctor or something.

toxic shock sydrome starts out with flu-like symptoms
just because you left the tampon in for that long doesn't mean you automatically have tss

Relax. Toxic Shock Syndrome symptoms are flu like symptoms. I don't think you have anything to worry about especially since you weren't bleeding.

Actually, since you had finished your period, your chances of
TSS are very, very small.
Symtomswould include:
fever 102 or higher
vomiting and diarrhea
rash
pinkeye, and progress to worse ones.

calm down its only 9 hours as long as its not in for like days. if there was nothing on it then i think u should be fine too

toxic sydrome gives diarea, vommiting, stomach ache, dyziness, and many more symptons, if you havent felt many of these then you dont have toxic syndrome
read the information it comes with the tampon box

Don't worry about it.
As long as you haven't had it in for a full day, you should be fine.
