we didn't like.Tie fishing line to a door knocker and hide behind a wall or parked car and pull the line.When they answered the door they would be standing on the door step looking and we would be there pulling the line to make the door knocker keep going.It was hilarious.

we used to go along the street putting the knockers up, then tap on the door and hide away when they answered and there was nobody there they would shut the door aggressively which would make the knocker drop. then they would answer again.

Take no notice of these people who imply this is wrong. In my day (before pc's, ipods, and television) it was a good game - called "Knocky Nine Door". In those days we were young, slim, fit and naughty. We also tied bunches of flowers (pinched from someone's garden) to a string and hid so when someone picked them up we pulled them away - hugely funny. We also rang the police from blue phone boxes and ran to hide when they came to investigate - happy days, when a policeman came to sort out this sort of "crime".

we done several things like knock the door and hide in the bushes or a tree with oranges.. if they came out we threw!!
There was this one time we all went to the bottom of the garden and mooned the man... he ran down and boot my friend!! hilarious moment he hasn't been able to poop right for 2 months!!

lol...we used to tie tough twine to the door knocker and then to a lampost so they couldnt open the door properly. I learnt my lesson years later tho when my eldest daughter lost the top of her finger playin knocky.....she got it trapped in the letterbox and it came clean off......when the surgeon asked her had she learnt her lesson she said "yeah only play knocky on houses with doorbells" seriously she will never learn!!!

I made the mistake of knocking on this guys door and he was a long distance runner!! Bloody H*ll could that guy move!! He caught my buddies and banged their heads together!! It was really funny !! They didn't want to play it anymore!! Big tough guys thrown around like rag dolls!! HA!HA!HA!

LMSIAO There's a modern version that uses a remote control with a search frequency facility that can be tuned in to doorbells and having been a victim of it I can tell you it's bloody annoying but funny too. I actually had to change my doorbell to deal with it. Bah Humbug

Actually we used to run up to houses ring their doorbells and run. It was more fun cause you had a bigger chance of getting caught. I used to irritate the snot out of the neighbors. But we would hide and laugh the trick is to do it at nite so you could run and not get seen.
