how to dilute hardened cutex nail polish?

Put a small amount of nail polish remover into the polish, close and shake vigorously. Just a few drops at a time. It may take several attempts to get it back to the correct consistency.

I would suggest just replacing it with fresh.

You could also try using a small amount of acetone to help dilute it.
