will something happen to make gardasil not work??

You will not be completely protected against what Gardasil protects - the virus called HPV. You'll need to get the third shot for that. However you can still have sex but you will still need to use birth control, and protection for other STDs (including HPV at this stage).

You protection against HPV is incomplete. The exact answer to your question is not reliably known.

BUT, Gardasil will not protect you against pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases other than HPV.

Abstinence is the safest. Having your partner wear a condom is a distant second choice. He has all the fun, you take all the risks.
